2010 Preliminary Placements now available - Appeals Hearing Mon Feb 8th


Preliminary Placements for the Spring 2010 CDYSL league season are now available. Use the "Games" menu item on the left of this page and navigate to the "Preliminary Placements" page. Once there, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the appropriate Age group. If you don't see your team, keep scrolling or check another age group in case your team requested or was placed in another age group.

The Appeals Meeting for the preliminary teams placement has been scheduled for Monday February 8 at 6:30 PM at the Colonie Community Center (located on 1653 Central Avenue) .

  • U-8 thru U-12 appeals will start at 6:30 PM
  • U-14 thru U-17 at 7:30 PM.
  • U19 TBA at a later date
(U19 coaches will be invited to a separate meeting to determine how divisions will be created and how best to set up their schedule. Coaches will be notified via the email contacts provided on their team commitment forms)

Coaches wishing to appeal their team's placement, must do so in writing. If you plan to appeal your team's placement please provide a detailed written explanation for the appeal

As appeals are received the Appeal Status column in Preliminary Placements for each age group will be updated to provide information identifying which teams have appealed their preliminary placement and where they are requesting to be reassigned. Discussion at the appeals hearing will determine whether or not changes will be approved or denied.

Any coach may attend the hearings to observe the process and voice their opinions regarding how potential changes may impact their team's final placement

ALL coaches are encouraged to check the appeals status to their division before the Monday hearings so they are aware of the potential for changes.

Please bear in mind that submitting an appeal is NOT a guarantee that your request can be accommodated.  While attendance by coaches who submit appeals is not necessary, additional comments are welcome, and helpful. Any coach may attend the hearings to observe the process and voice their opinions regarding how potential changes may impact their team's final placement  

Final Placements will reflect the decisions made by the Games Committee after reviewing appeals on February 8th. Results should be posted on of before Friday February 12th and are not eligible for further appeal. Team placements will not change unless additional team withdrawals make an individual division too small to create a viable game schedule. Should additional team withdrawals occur, the Games Committee will review the status of those divisions affected to make sure a viable game schedule can be still created. Final placements will be re-posted as they occur.
