2010 College Showcase/Section II Senior All Star Games

Thursday November 11, 2010
DiCaprio Park, Guilderland, NY

Each year CDYSL joins forces with the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association, the NYS Public High School Athletic Association and Section II Coaches to host a post season College Bound Showcase for senior male and female all-stars throughout Section II.

Participants are selected by their leagues/coaches to represent their individual conferences and showcase their talent by competing against other Section II all stars. Coaches from colleges all over the Northeast and Mid- Atlantic regions have been invited to attend the games and evaluate local players who in turn hope to be invited to continue their soccer careers in college next year.

Please note:
Section II coaches and their league representatives meet in prior to sectionals to determine which seniors will be invited to play in the showcase.  Each league sets their own criteria for inviting seniors to participate in the College Showcase/Senior All-Star games. CDYSL is NOT part of that process, does not select the participants for AND will not be contacting those seniors invited to play.

Senior Profiles
Each year in preparation for the games, CDYSL compiles a profile booklet for college coaches giving them a brief glimpse at the potential pool of players in Section II whose soccer and academic interests match their campus’ needs. Over the years, coaches have told us that our efforts have made their job much easier.

Fill out the ON-LINE Form at

Filling out a profile IS NOT AN APPLICATION TO BE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COLLEGE SHOWCASE/SENIOR ALL-STAR GAMES (see note above)

DEADLINE: All Profiles must be submitted using the on-line and posted by
Friday OCTOBER 29, 2010

Who is eligible to submit a Player Profile:
Because roster sizes are limited, not every senior all star in the area will be invited to play or be eligible to play if they are still in the running for a state title. However, ANY senior player who might be interested in playing soccer in college IS invited to submit a profile for the booklet regardless of whether or not they will be participating in the games that day.

Helpful Hints for filling out profile forms:
Make sure your contact information is accurate - Coaches assume that you want to be contacted if you are submitting a profile. If you don’t provide a complete mailing address, for example, a coach may not be able to get in touch with you. Some items in the form must be filled in, so if you are having difficulty filling out the form, make sure you have filled in the boxes marked with an *
While it’s not required, submitting a valid email address is strongly recommended - More and more colleges are using email to communicate with students.
Keep it relevant - Soccer coaches are your audience While there is space to note that you participate in other sports, we are contacting soccer coaches who are more interested in your soccer and academic achievements.
Keep it brief - Printing the booklet is costly so space is limited. The awards and recognitions area for example limited is limited to 300 characters. Please prioritize your academic and soccer awards received in high school and enter them in order of importance. If you received the same award more than once, enter the award with the years received ie: 2005, 2006 Section II 1st team All Star or 2004 ,2005, 2007 Honor Roll, etc.
