CDYSL Exceptional Senior Showcase

2023

To be held on Friday, November 10th

  Location:

DiCaprio Fields

3420 E Lydius St

Schenectady, NY 12303

Each year CDYSL joins forces with the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association and Section II Coaches to host a postseason College Bound Showcase for senior males and females throughout Section II.

Participants are selected by their leagues/coaches to represent their individual conferences and showcase their talent by competing against other Section II players. Coaches from colleges all over the Northeast and Mid- Atlantic regions have been invited to attend the games and evaluate local players who in turn hope to be invited to continue their soccer careers in college next year.

Please note:
Section II coaches and their league representatives meet prior to sectionals to determine which seniors will be invited to play in the showcase. Each league sets their own criteria for inviting seniors to participate in the College Showcase/Senior All-Star games. CDYSL is NOT part of that process, does not select the participants for AND will not be contacting those seniors invited to play.

  • Player Selection:

Each league sets their own criteria for inviting seniors to participate in the College Showcase/Senior All-Star games.  You will likely be contacted by either your coach or league/secion representative.

CDYSL is NOT part of the selection process AND will not be contacting those seniors invited to play.

Game Day Information for Players:

  • Arrival Time:

All Players should plan to arrive at the tournament location 45 minutes before your scheduled game time to report to the Check-In tent and pick up your jersey.

  • Letter or Intent (waiver to participate):

All participants should have received a “Letter of Intent” from the league representative with their invitation to play in the Senior Games. This is basically a waiver allowing you to play. It must be signed and turned in to your assigned coach on the field before you will be allowed to play.

Important Reminders:

If you have been invited to play in this year’s Senior Showcase games - NYS Public High School Athletic Association and Section II guidelines for eligibility to participate in the Senior Games state:

  • IF your team is still in competition for the State Title on game day you will be ineligible to play on game day.
  • IF you received a RED CARD at the last game you competed in (regular season or postseason play), you will be ineligible to play on game day.

Senior Profiles

Each year in preparation for the games, CDYSL compiles a profile booklet for college coaches giving them a brief glimpse at the potential pool of players in Section II whose soccer and academic interests match their campus’ needs. Over the years, coaches have told us that our efforts have made their job much easier.  You are invited to submit a profile even if you are not selected to play in the game.

Should I submit a Senior Profile?

  • Are you participating in the Exceptional Senior Games?
    • Yes—College Coaches will only be able to contact those who have their information in the Senior Profiles. If they like how they see you playing, but can’t contact you, you won’t be contacted!
    • No—Even those who are not participating either due to scheduling conflicts or injury have been contacted by coaches if they have a strong profile. Not playing doesn’t rule you out
  • Have you played soccer with a club under CDYSL in the past two years?
    • CDYSL offers several scholarships to those who have played in CDYSL. We will be using the Senior Profiles contact information to send out reminders of when the applications are available as well as when the deadlines will be.
